Meet the KFE Family
Dr. Jarod Kastl:
Dr. Jarod Kastl grew up in Butler County, Nebraska on a farm and completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He then graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2003. A couple years later he moved to Norfolk, where he served as the Optometrist at Shopko Eyecare for 14 years. He and his wife, Laura, have been blessed with five children. His family is very important to him and yours is too! He is very excited for this opportunity to continue serving his patients at Kastl Family Eyecare.
Michelle Planer:
Michelle Planer has been an optician since 2008 . She is originally from Grand Island, Nebraska where she received her American Board of Opticianry Certification. She moved to the Norfolk area in 2017 after meeting her husband Eric. Michelle and Eric live in Pierce. They, and their three children, love to spend time together golfing, playing in the backyard and grilling food!! She loves helping our patients choose stylish frames that fit their lifestyle and that they will love. She is knowledgeable in all lens styles and is happy to guide you through choosing the best product for you!!
Brad Herian:
Brad has lived in Norfolk his entire life with Lynn, his wife since 1987. He has 2 daughters, Gina and Joy, along with 2 granddaughters, Carly and Kate. He has worked in the optical trade since 1995. Providing every patient the best experience with their eye care, is what Brad enjoys most. Brad’s experience, talents and professionalism is a wonderful addition to our team.
Laura Kastl:
Laura is married to Dr. Kastl and works a lot behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly at the office. One of her favorite things to do is decorate the office for the various seasons and update the chalkboard sign out front. When Laura is not at the office you can find her cooking, baking, reading, gardening and raising their children.
Hollie Christiansen:
Hollie loves penguins, loves to laugh and is so much fun to be around. She is originally from Hadar and is married to Travis. They have two children, Trayton and Trinity, and two cats. Hollie loves her family and loves spending time with them. She had been in the eyecare industry for 2 years before joining the Kastl Family Eyecare team in July 2022. Her favorite thing about her job is seeing patients excited to wear a frame they love.
